Love in New England

This past month I had a magical opportunity to beautify long-time friend Laura Johnson for her wedding. Not only did I get to be part of bringing some glam to her day, but I also was able to reunite with old high-school pals. True friendship shines when you can pick up where you left off 10 years later.

Laura & Donal took a selfie at the alter before their kiss!! I love that they captured this moment of pure bliss and joy with one another that they will be able to look back on forever.

Rainy Days and Springtime Heat

So I recently got back from a extremely short work trip to Florida, I had all of these anticipations of listening to music with my car windows rolled down and allowing the warm florida winds wisp my hair all around. Well, you know what they say... don't have expectations and you can't be let down.

There was nothing but flooding rain, and my naturally wavy hair was a terrible poofy lions mane. Despite all of the weather issues I must say my two days down there were magical. The bride and her wedding party (all 8!) were absolutely stunning and fun girls, and I had no idea that the entire wedding party was from the Chicago area, so I received lots of great tips to check out local hot spots.

I also was able to squeeze in a reunion with my most dearest and extremely talented friends. Kaylin and I shot with Brooke Huseby, who actually introduced me last year to both Kaylin Amabile and Ashley Holloway. Never knowing what a great friendship would come of those two random photo shoots, and oddly enough after those two introduction shoots last year Brooke and I had never shot again. So it was a lovely reunion and the images that are to come are going to be fantastic.

Day two Ashley, Brooke, and the amazingly talented Julia Chew and I got together and made some really fun nostalgic images, even a purple wig came out for a few shots! So here I am back in chilly Chicago, grateful for my time down to Florida but certainly sad it could not have been longer.

Before & After Chicago Home Vol. 1

The slow evolution of the results of my (extremely cold) "spring cleaning" fever. There is still so much to do, and of course better pictures to take. But I thought that this would make a good start chronicling the process of turning this mess into our home.

$9 Contact Paper Fridge Makeover.

The fridge has to still be my favorite DIY as of yet, although painstakingly tedious trying to match up the patterns. So for future reference to any DIY-ers out there, you may save a few bucks at Dollar General buying funky contact paper for cheap....but each roll may be printed off, and the patterns may not match up entirely. So if that happens to you, just put a bunch of stuff on your fridge to cover it up!

California Dreaming

Last October I took a trip to visit my father and grandmother.

Today I am feeling a bit nostalgic, being stuck in the house staying warm in this cooold Chicago weather certainly has me wishing I was somewhere sunny and always 75 degrees. So I will post pictures of my trip and dance around my house listening to my Beyonce playlist.
